Format & Scoring
IELTS checks your English in four sections: Speaking, Writing, Reading, and Listening. The test is around 3 hours long and each part has different tasks with band scores ranging from 1.0 to 9.0. The Examiner scores your answers by checking grammar, vocabulary, fluency, pronunciation, and accuracy. Your overall score is an average of these parts.
